From the Beginning

In 2008 the Mission Playmor Homeowner Association were compelled to mobilize the membership to contest our Board of Directors. Sparked by Mission Playmor's legendary board member and homeowner ally, Flo Murphy, we petitioned our entire neighborhood to make our voices heard through the power of assembly. As resolute homeowners we persevered and won fair and square by two votes to “Let It Be!”

This crowning effort was the genesis of the Let It Be Committee seventeen years ago. Our expectation is for the Board of Directors we vote to represent us will share our common interests and eagerly enjoin The LIBC as cooperative and accessible allies.

Mission Playmor
”The Oasis in the Valley”

Mission Playmor continues to be recognized as a beautiful oasis in the valley. There have been challenging trials and tribulations through the decades, to be sure. The Let It Be Community continues to persevere for the benefit of our community by remaining dutiful to  homeowners and steadfast in our mission.

Flo Murphy, LIBC Organizer
Mission Playmor homeowner and legendary board member, Florence Murphy, experienced many accomplishments which include member of the first U.S. women's soccer team (St. Louis Bobby Sockers 1950); computer programmer for the U.S. Federal Government; first woman President and first woman Governor of the San Diego Serra Club, whose mission is to foster Catholic vocations; dedicated parishioner of the Mission San Diego de Alcalá for more than 30 years.

Catholic Charities honored Florence with the "Matthew 25" award in 2008 for her "Faith in Action" and devotion to serving the poor. Florence was also known as "the shoe lady" and "the jacket lady" for her donation of hundreds of shoes and coats year after year to a Catholic orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico.

She loved to travel and went on numerous pilgrimages including Rome, Medjugorje, Paris, Lourdes, Fatima, Knock, Krakow, Barcelona, Quebec, Mexico City, and Mallorca - the birthplace of Saint Junipero Serra. Also, Florence and her grandson Kevin drove the California coast to visit all 21 Missions along the historic Mission Trail.
